| The Skinny By Tonie Silver I just had to see for myself what all the hoopla about Skinny Skinny was about. First of all there’s that name: how cute is that? Just say it out loud to yourself three times fast. Katie at Skinny Skinny broke it down for me~ it’s Skin-New York- get it? Too cute! Ingredients~ check~ all organic. The packaging is dear and charming. The colors are pastel, there are flowers strewn about the labels, and the soaps are wrapped in what look to be magazine pages~ clever! The labels are removable, but, I ask you, who would want to? Readers will remember that I am so not a fan of the mint. When I tried Skinny Skinny’s Lime& Mint Soap I was like “oy”, but what a pleasant surprise! That lime kicks in and delivers a refreshing little pow! These soaps are like a good man: nice and hard, and long lasting. The Jasmine & Green Tea echoes the scent of the body oil, and the Rose & Almond is soothing, smoothing, and a bit scrubby with ground almonds and oatmeal. Rose geranium essential oil lightly fragrances this gentle, soothing bar. The Jasmine and Green Tea Body Oil is super. Light, unobtrusive fragrance, lots and lots of moisture. Really smells like jasmine and green tea. I really like the blend of oils in this product: jojoba, hempseed, rosehip, sesame, and borage! The jojoba is infused with chamomile, lavender, rose, and calendula, which adds an underlying layer of fragrance that is so nice and sweet. Extra points here for the cool glass bottle with a pump top. Highly recommended. The Lip Balms are packaged in colors I’ve never seen used before~ pastel blue and green~ me likee. A base of cocoa butter, beeswax, coconut, olive, and avocado oils, and honey make for a long lasting balm that feels nice on lips. Organic Bare Naked Lip Balm is cocoa buttery, thick, and rich, with avocado oil and honey. Very soothing, and really stays on. Tea Tree & Mint~ kinda zippy, cool, and refreshing. Skinny Skinny is a pleasure to use. www.skinnyskinnysoaps.com |
