Happy HOT Summer, folks! I hope
you're all keeping cool while doing
your part to save our precious planet.
California's burning, and that's where
I live. It's heartbreaking hearing and
reading about my friends and
neighbors who've been burned out of
their homes. Big Sur, one of the most
precious, beautiful and magical
places in California, is threatened by
fire. If it survives the fires, I
recommend a trip down that way if
you're visiting anywhere along the CA
coast between San Francisco and
Santa Cruz. It's worth the drive. We
once rode from the central San
Joaquin Valley in 112 degree heat to
the coast just to sit on the Adirondack
chairs that float in the creek behind
the general store at Big Sur.
Something about that place just
recharges your batteries.
Pray for the fire victims, the flood
victims and our soldiers at war.
